About us

Wimbleball Reservoir is set within the beautiful surroundings of the Exmoor national park. There are many bays and inlets to explore across the 370 acres of water, from the shallows in Bessoms bay to the depths of Steart bay by the Dam & the picturesque tree lined Upton arm.

We offer Fly fishing for stocked Rainbow and wild Brown Trout. There are great hatches of flies throughout the season providing fantastic sport both on dry fly & subsurface with small nymphs. During the back end of the season some exhilarating sport can be had in & around the shadows as the fish Start to target the fry.

What we do!

We pride ourselves with having a superb head of high-quality fin perfect rainbow trout, produced at our own Rainbow valley trout farm just a few miles away, grown on in the cool clear River Exe water that meanders its way down the exe valley from high on Exmoor. The fish we stock will not disappoint you for their hard fighting qualities, searing runs into your backing & acrobatics when hooked.

An absolute bonus are our revered resident wild Brown trout, if you are lucky enough to encounter one, the fight will be as spectacular as their looks.
